Bangladesh is the second largest manufacturer of ready-made garments in the world behind China. 81 percent of exports come from the RMG sector and the textile and garments sector accounts for 20 percent of the country’s GDP, it employs 20 million people. Bangladesh grows only a small anount of cotton, it imports from over 40 countries with India and Uzbekistan making up the majority of the volume.

Worth Noting! Nearly 80 percent of garments made in Bangladesh are sourced from Cotton. Bangladesh has over 400 spinning mills, 800 weaving mills and over 7000 garment factories.
